WORK is progressing on the restoration of Bradford's Grade II*-listed St George's Hall.
The project, funded by Bradford Council and a £1.5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, is currently being carried out on the concert venue.
Bradford Theatres say, where possible, front-of-house areas have been increased and will be decorated sympathetically to suit the heritage of the building. Work to improve sight lines and comfort of the seating in the auditorium is also progressing.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “The refurbishment of St George’s Hall will ensure that this heritage building is maintained and brought up to standard as a top class venue adding to the fantastic cultural offer in Bradford.
"Work is progressing well and I’m sure once complete will secure the building for future generations of audiences.”
