A CHARITY event will take place this weekend to raise money for cancer care.
The ‘Brave the Shave’ event aims to support cancer patients, and will involve a hairdresser having her head shaved.
Lisa Hanson, Senior Stylist at Marios Hairdressers, Kirkgate, will also host fairground style games to raise funds.
Some of the money raised will go towards the care of the director, who has himself been diagnosed with cancer.
Tony DeLuca is receiving palliative care for stage four cancer.
Mrs Hanson, 46, said: “Hair is massively important to both men and women and the thing most people are afraid to lose as they think it will change them and what people’s reactions are. I’m hoping that shaving mine off will show them that they are still beautiful too.”
The event will take place from 2-4pm on Sunday at Bankfoot Cricket Club, Low Moor.
