A NUMBER of events are to be held to mark the NHS's 70th birthday next week.
Great British Bake Off star Sandy Docherty, welfare officer at Titus Salt School in Baildon, will judge a charity bake off at the Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) on Tuesday.
Joining her will be John Cummings, director of long-standing Bradford company, Hughes Bakery. Hughes is donating a special NHS70 cake to raffle to raise money for Bradford Hospitals’ Charity, as well as cakes to sell on the stall.
A number of NHS Big 7Tea parties will also be held. On Monday, there will be a photo display of Bradford's NHS throughout the decades in the main concourse of the BRI. On Wednesday, people will be able to visit the hospital grounds at the BRI and St Luke's Hospital to see NHS70 displays with commemorative pebbles decorated by young patients.
Other events will be held across the district in celebration. The official anniversary is Thursday, July 5.
