POLICE were called to The Broadway shopping centre over the weekend after an unidentified vehicle was driven to an off-limits area.
General manager Ian Ward said the in-centre security team was alerted when the car was driven to a restricted area at the bottom of the service area of the shopping mall on Saturday.
He said: “Following the vehicle beginning to reverse up the ramp, and adhering to security guidelines and government protocol, a member of the security team raised the blocker barriers due to the passengers intentions being unknown.
"The car then drove back down the ramp and over the barrier causing damage to the underside of the vehicle.
He added: “The driver then came out of the car, allowing the team to see they needed assistance.
"The police were called and the passengers confirmed there were no injuries.
"The property damage claim is now with our insurers.”
