A CHEERLEADING school in Bradford has been celebrating after it was crowned the best in the country at a national competition.

Panache Cheer School's team competed in the Junior Elite team event at the ICC Battle of the Champions held in Peterborough.

The won first place in the event and also picked up the Grand Royal Championship for being the highest scoring team in the entire tournament.

Two Hipperholme Grammar School students from the district played a helping hand in the victory.

Halle-Blu Morrison, 14, from East Bierley, has a sports scholarship at Hipperholme and also cheers for Team England, and Lexxi Sedgwick, 15, from Cleckheaton, is already planning future success with Panache

Robyn Morrison, mother of Halle-Blue and Panache owner, said: "We are extremely proud of Halle-Blu’s achievements.

"She continues to excel as an athlete in cheer and also gymnastics where she has ambitions of competing at the World Championships for the British Gymnastics team when she turns 16."

Andrea Sedgwick, mother of Lexxi, added: “We are unbelievably proud of Lexxi. She’s achieved so much in a short space of time and loves to be part of a team, that’s where she really shines.

“We are so proud of both Halle-Blu’s and Lexxi’s achievements, they are talented athletes who are so dedicated to their sports.”
