WORLD CUP fever has well and truly taken hold of the nation and a booming local initiative is joining in.

Corinna Parkins, founder of Greengates Rocks, has painted a selection of stones with the flags of competing nations, ready for people in the local community to hunt the treasures.

Some of the nations included in her designs so far include Brazil, Portugal, and of course, the red and white of England.

Rock groups have been springing up around Bradford over the past few months with the aim to get children and adults outside again.

Participants can join in by painting a design onto the humble stone and then hiding it in the local area and/or by searching for other people’s creations, then posting their finds on social media.

The initiative has taken off in the last few weeks across several locations and Greengates Rocks in particular is expanding by running its own activity days and events based around the rock craze.

On Wednesday this week it ran a World Cup and Rock Painting day at a local church.
