ACCORDING to new figures, health-conscious young millennials would rather sip on soft drinks in the comfort of their own homes while watching the football this summer.
A study by The Ice Co found 74 per cent of people prefer to watch the World Cup at home rather than in a noisy, busy pub where you have to queue for drinks.
When it comes to the drinks of choice for 18 to 24 year olds this summer, the study shows soft drinks lead the way. Ice cold beer is the drink of choice for over half of 'Baby Boomers' and 61 per cent prefer the traditional camaraderie of the pub.
Ginny Durdy, from the The Ice Co, which commissioned the research, said: “Our study showed two of the main reasons Millennials prefer to stay at home to watch the World Cup is because it’s cheaper and you don’t have to queue for drinks."
