A BRADFORD man has been charged with two terrorism offences.

Asim Majid, 29, of Cranbourne Road, Girlington, was arrested after an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East and has been charged under the Terrorism Act 2000.

This includes one offence of possessing a record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of Terrorism.

He has also been charged with one offence of Terrorist Funding.

The man was arrested on Wednesday, June 13, by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North East (CTP NE) and a warrant of further detention was granted on Friday, giving officers more time to question him.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 21.
