A YOUNG boy with cerebral palsy who faced having to leave his beloved nursery can now stay on with his pals – thanks to a Steeton firm.
Little Carter Lee’s future at Jelly Babies was in jeopardy because he would have been unable to access the first-floor pre-school unit, where youngsters transfer to at three years old.
But when Acorn Stairlifts heard of his plight, it stepped in to help.
The Station Road company donated and installed a stairlift for free.
“Everyone loves Carter and the last thing we wanted was to lose him,” said Maxine Phillips, owner of the nursery, at Little Lever, Bolton.
“When we heard Carter’s story – and just how much it meant for everyone to keep him at Jelly Babies – we knew we could do our bit,” said Gareth Deegan, the company’s assistant UK sales manager.
