COMMUNITY groups in Bradford have taken part in a study which revealed a quarter of local charities fear for their survival.
A total of 223 groups in the district contributed to the survey, carried out by the Co-operative.
The survey found one in four groups have worries for the future, with more than half noticing a growth in demand not being matched by increased funding or resources, but more than 40 per cent noted an increase in volunteers.
Rebecca Birkbeck, from the Co-op, said: “With many groups finding themselves underfunded and under-resourced, it is increasingly important that we all support the crucial work of community groups.
“We believe now, more than ever, that connecting local people and causes to enable greater co-operation is the key ingredient to building stronger communities.”
