A BUSINESS collective that provides facilities for small companies will be moving into new premises in July.

Assembly Bradford, a space that allows professionals to rent a desk and use of the building’s facilities on a short-term basis, is relocating due to expansion.

It was previously located on Rawson Square, and now hopes that the new premises on North Parade will offer a secure lease - which has just been signed - as well as more flexibility and space.

The space within the listed building has been empty for some years, but Assembly Bradford hopes to make it a new creative area for professionals.

David Craig, who runs a design consultancy and is one of the directors, said: “We are really excited about expanding our offer. Our new space, with high ceilings, bags of natural light and better facilities, will give us more capacity.

“The advantage of this space is that we now also have separate offices.

“The feedback from our members was that they needed separate spaces to eat away from their desks.”

Small businesses and individuals with a wide range of skills will travel from York, Skipton and Leeds to Bradford to work.

Business partner Haigh Simpson said: “This opportunity will provide space for our members to grow with us.

“As well as offering serviced office space and co-working, we will be hosting a range of events and workshops in the space from August onwards.”

The funding for the project is provided by a start-up loan from the Business Enterprise Fund (BEF) and is supported by Bradford Council’s Growth Zone Funding with the purpose of encouraging projects that provide varied and daytime uses on North Parade.

Nicolas Kendall, Head of Marketing at BEF, said: “Assembly Bradford is a business initiative that we are excited to support.

“Bradford is close to our hearts and we support businesses on our doorstep.

“There is a lot of talent within the city and it’s great to play a small role to support that talent.

“Assembly’s decision to move to North Parade will have a snowball effect in regeneration for the area.”
