TRAIN services across the district were hit by widespread disruption on Monday morning when a lorry crashed into a bridge in Baildon.

National Rail said trains were unable to run between Bradford Forster Square and Ilkley, and passengers on trains between Leeds, Skipton and Bradford were subject to delays of up to 20 minutes after the crash at 9am yesterday.

The crash happened during Monday morning’s rush hour.

Services were either delayed or cancelled for nearly two hours while emergency services were called in to clear the scene and the vehicle and check for structural damage.

Anyone who was impacted by the delays by 30 minutes or more should hold on to their tickets and claim compensation by visiting northernrailway.co.uk/delayrepay
