A NEW inflatable theme park will be opening in Bradford next month.

Funzy - which is located at the Bradford Leisure Exchange - will be Yorkshire’s “biggest” inflatable theme park and is designed for people of all ages.

The park will contain a giant bouncy area with an inflatable obstacle course and a ball park, with a separate smaller play area for toddlers under the age of four.

Company director Moha Mahani said: “There was a gap in the market and Bradford does not have a similar ‘playground’ for kids and adults.

“The Leisure Exchange is the leisure destination for Bradford, which is why we chose this location.

“There is also a party room for birthday and corporate events.”

The room will have capacity for fifty guests and there will be a coffee shop on location.

Mr Mahani said there are a few trampoline parks in Leeds but none provide the same concept.

He added: “There is also a ball pool and a freewill double stunt jump and climbing wall.

“The inflatable theme park will cover 10,000 sq ft, and there will be on site booking subject to availability.”

The new park will create 35 new jobs in the former gym.

Vacancies for cafe assistants, park marshals and a duty manager are open now, with a recruitment drive taking place tomorrow.

The theme park will be replacing the Coda Fitness gym, which closed its doors for good last week.

Val Summerscales, Secretary for the Bradford Chamber of Trade, said: “The fact that a new business is taking over the space is good news.

“The jobs will replace the ones that have been left by the closure of the gym.”

She added: “It’s also great that it’s an innovative business.”

The news comes soon after Grosvenor Casino also announced it is leaving the Bradford Leisure Exchange.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Transport and Planning, said: “We’re delighted that this new business is opening in Bradford and welcome the new jobs it will bring to the district.

“This fantastic new business is a great addition to our city centre leisure offer, in particular to our significant young population.

“As the biggest of its kind in Yorkshire, we hope this theme park will attract visitors from all over the region.”

The play area at the new Funzy inflatable theme park will cost adults £9.95 per hour, and £5.95 per hour for children under four years old.

There will also be adults only sessions, as well as ladies only sessions with fitness classes incorporating zumba, which is an aerobic fitness exercise performed to music.

The inflatable theme park is located at the Bradford Leisure Exchange, Vicar Lane, and tickets will be available at a discounted price before its opening. The park will open towards the end of next month.
