RESIDENTS who ignore advice and warnings about contaminating recycling bins could end up with a £60 fine.
Bradford Council is determined help residents recycle as much as possible. Not only is it much better for the environment and wildlife, it also saves large amounts of Council Tax-payers money.
If anyone is not sure about which items can go into recycling bins, the information is available the Council website.
If crews identify contaminated recycling bins they won’t empty the bin but place a red tag on it which lists the items which cannot be placed in the recycling bin.
When the offending items have been removed by the householder, the bin will be emptied on the next collection round.
If residents continue to contaminate their bins, a warning letter will be sent, followed by a fine.
