DISTRICT MP Tracy Brabin has pledged her support to the thousands of “selfless” carers across her constituency as part of Carers Week.
Ms Brabin, MP for Batley and Spen, was speaking at an event in Westminster to celebrate the contributions of the UK’s unpaid carers who support disabled or ill family and friends.
She said: “I have nothing but admiration for the selfless people who dedicate so much of their lives to looking after others and it was inspiring to hear how much they do for family, friends and loved ones.
“Many people who are unpaid carers have no idea how vital a role they are playing, making events like these all the more important so they know that there are support networks and help available.
“If anyone is struggling with what can be a huge responsibility – there is help and support out there if you know where to look.”
