YORKSHIRE Water says it has healthy water levels in its reservoirs despite the dry spell the district is experiencing.
A spokesperson said: “As of last week, our reservoir levels across the region averaged 83% and there are no water shortage risks.
“However, we would still advise customers to be water efficient, which as well as being good for the environment can help save money for those on a meter. Our free water saving packs include a variety of gadgets such as a 4-minute shower timer all designed to save water consumption in the home and can be ordered on our website at www.yorkshirewater.com/savewater.”
An Environment Agency spokesperson said: “At the moment we are not experiencing any issues with wildlife in the Rivers Aire or Wharfe but we appeal to the public to keep us informed.
“Anyone who sees any fish in distress should call our incident hotline on 0800 807060.”
