MORE THAN 100 visitors went to a local farm over the weekend for a free event that helped the public discover the hard work behind many everyday products.
Milnerfield Farm, Bingley, opened its gates to around 150 visitors on Sunday who were given the opportunity to find out more about the history of the working dairy farm which was built around 1870.
A local historian, Alan Cattell, was on hand to illustrate the links between the farm and the heritage site of Saltaire.
The farm had once been part of the Milnerfield Estate owned by Titus Salt Jr.
Away from the history, visitors were able to see demonstrations of milking and butter making, as well as being able to visit the cows and calves.
There was also free ice-cream for everyone at the event.
The day was part of the Open Farm Sunday national events that began in 2006.
