PLANS have been submitted to Bradford Council to turn part of a long-established corner shop into a coffee shop in Eccleshill.
The application, if successful, would see part of the Quencher convenience store in Norman Lane converted into a coffee shop to “diversify” the business.
The applicant, named only as Mr Budwell, has run the shop, pictured, for 38 years, adding extensions 25 and 15 years ago.
In the application it states Mr Budwell wants to open a coffee shop to give customers more choice and “serve the community and existing customers”.
If approved, Mr Budwell would also take on two extra members of staff, and would operate during the shop’s usual opening hours.
The change would also include a new door, window, exterior step and handrail. The shop would have seating for eight customers at a time.
