AN annual event to raise awareness of the oppression against the gay, bisexual and transgender community was held yesterday in Bradford.
The International Day Against Homophobia Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is held each year in support of many people in the UK and throughout the world who continue to suffer animosity towards them.
Equity Partnership, Bradford Council and Incommunities hosted the day at Margaret McMillan Towers. Councillor Richard Dunbar opened the event reminding those there of how oppression still affects LGBT communities today.
Participants enjoyed African drumming, singing and gender identity workshops.
