RESIDENTS at a Shipley care home got into the spirit of the royal wedding occasion on Saturday by holding a party of their own.
Staff at Elderthorpe Care Home created invitations and sent out personal wedding invites to all their residents.
They also had a craft afternoon with all helping to make table decorations and corsages.
The cook created a four course menu fit for royalty and everyone was served with a glass of champagne to toast the royal couple as they made their vows.
Elsewhere in Bradford, crowds sitting in the sunshine in Centenary Square watched the ceremony live on the big screen.
Elsewhere, pupils at Clayton Village Primary School, Laycock Primary School, Keighley, and little ones at Hunsworth Community Playgroup, Cleckheaton, staged their own mock weddings in celebration of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s special day.
Laycock Primary School pupils Eloise Pinder and Axel Dyson-Ryan portrayed the famous couple in a mock royal wedding ceremony in the parish church.
