HAWORTH is preparing for its annual 1940s Weekend, which takes place in the village this weekend.
At the two-day event, visitors will be transported back to the forties, with a range of vintage vintage vehicles on display, an evacuees’ event, war re-enactments, speeches from Winston Churchill, jive dancing, singing and bands playing.
People are also encouraged to dress up in period costumes.
The event takes place on Saturday, and Sunday, and thousands expected to attend.
War re-enactments will take place each day, and there will also be a flyover by a BBMF Dakota (weather permitting).
Vintage vehicles will line the streets over both days, and there will be regular performances by musicians on Main Street and in Haworth Park Bandstand, as well as parades by “home guard” volunteers.
There will also be Punch and Judy shows.
