A DRUGS driver stopped by police in Sutton-in-Craven had more than three times the limit of cannabis in his system, heard Skipton magistrates.
Suhail Choudry, 27, was stopped in the early hours of March 25 on Bridge Road after officers saw him 'carrying out loops' of the area in his VW Golf.
When he was questioned, officers noticed the smell of cannabis and a road side test proved positive for the drug, the court heard.
He was taken to the police station for a blood sample which later showed he had seven microgrammes of cannabis by-product delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in one litre of blood, the specified limit is two.
Choudry, of Box Tree Grove, Keighley, who admitted drugs driving, had dropped a friend off and had returned with his mobile phone, and here was no suggestion of poor driving, the court heard in mitigation.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and was fined £254 with costs of £85 and a surcharge of £30.
