THE annual civic service of thanksgiving for the year in office of the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Abid Hussain, was held at Bradford Cathedral this morning.
The service included a sermon, readings and a performance from the cathedral choir.
Prayers for the district, including prayers written especially for the occasion, were read by the Believing in Bradford group.
Believing in Bradford is an all-faith group formed in 2016 by the Bishop of Bradford and the Lord Mayor of Bradford to bring people together across the district.
Emmerson Walgrove, Believing in Bradford ambassador, said: "The service of thanksgiving was moving and reflected on Councillor Abid Hussain's year, who has been true to his faith in his role as Lord Mayor of Bradford, serving the citizens of the Bradford district with love and kindness."
A collection was held for the Lord Mayor's Appeal charities, the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service and the Wishing Well appeal.
