LIAM Johnson is not expecting Huddersfield to come knocking during his year at the Bulls.

The versatile centre or back-row forward has scored six tries so far in his loan.

The Giants are struggling in Super League but he is not anticipating a call to return early to his parent club.

He said: "I think they've got their team cemented pretty much and will work with the players they've got.

"Obviously my priority is getting game time here and playing the best I can. If I catch someone's eye then great but my aim is to play consistently well here and see what happens off the end of that."

Johnson has been pleased with how he has fitted in with John Kear's team, although he admits it was tough going at Warrington in the Challenge Cup last week.

"I didn't have my best game but then again it was a lot quicker and more intense than we're used to," he added.

"But you learn no matter whether you win or lose and playing against those old heads like Chris Hill and Ben Currie, England internationals, you can take a lot away from that.

"As well as learning with your own game, you can see what they've done and take stuff from them.

"Now we can look forward to the bigger task now of getting promoted."

Tomorrow's trip to leaders Doncaster is shaping up to be a cracker and Johnson, who is not included in the 19-man squad, says the Bulls have full respect for their hosts.

"That's a big thing with John. He wants us to show every team in the league respect and we'll have to do that with Doncaster more than anyone because they are top and winning consistently.

"The Bulls fans will travel in numbers with it being a very big game. Doncaster will bring quite a few so it should be a busy stadium."
