A BRADFORD couple hope to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts through the 10k race this weekend.

Jamaal Mohammad, 24, along with his brothers and friends, will take part in the run tomorrow to help raise money for 4Louis, a charity which makes memory boxes for parents of stillborn babies.

Jamaal and his wife Shaila, 25, were left heartbroken in October 2017 when they received the devastating news their son Emre Elahi had died in the womb.

Speaking about their experience of a memory box, Shaila said they open it and smile because they are reminded of the precious moments they could spend with their son. Now they are determined to raise as much money as they can to donate at least 50 boxes to the Snowdrop Suite at the Bradford Royal Infirmary.

The couple, from Laisterdyke, hope to reach out to other parents who have gone through the same as them and Jamaal will wear a T-shirt at the end of the race bearing the names of other stillborn babies. Visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/EmreElahi.
