Arsonist sets fire to front door
AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a vandal set fire to the front door of a flat.
Firefighters from Shipley were called to the property in Owlet Grange, off Crag Road, at 9.40pm on Tuesday after a neighbour phoned 999.
Richard Driver, watch manager at Shipley Fire Station, said somebody had set fire to the door of an unoccupied flat and the neighbour raised the alarm when smoke detectors started sounding.
Watch manager Driver said the door was damaged and the rest of the flat was heavily smoke-logged by the blaze.
West Yorkshire Police were called to the home and are looking into how the blaze started.
