A BRADFORD-based paediatric physiotherapist is hoping to make waves - and cash - when she takes part in this year's national Swimathon.
Alison Pyke (pictured), who is based at St Luke's Hospital, will swim 5k to raise cash for Bradford Hospitals’ Charity on Friday, April 27. More than 500 swimming pools across the UK are expected to take part this year to raise money for charity.
“I enjoy a challenge and raising money for this excellent cause will help motivate me to keep going,” said Alison.
Hayley Collis, Head of Fundraising for the charity, said: “We are so grateful to Alison for taking on this tough swimming challenge. Fundraising like this helps raise a little smile for our younger patients, many of whom spend a great deal of time in hospital and visiting health professionals like Alison."
Alison will complete the Swimathon at Batley Sports and Tennis Centre.
