A HOST of projects across the Bradford district have benefitted from the latest round of cash from the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) Safer Communities Fund.

A total of ten Bradford-based groups received a share of £166,000, with the fund financed through money recovered from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

More than 500 projects have been awarded more than £2.2 million since the the fund began in 2014.

The Bradford groups to benefit from grants of around £4,000 are High Park School, Eccleshill Adventure Playground, Safety First Community Training Centre, Brathay Trust, and Hope for Justice.

Also successful were Bradford People First, the Khidmat Centre, the Creative Butterfly Project CIC, West Yorkshire Black Police Association, and Relate Bradford.

The next round of the fund opens on May 14 with £200,000 available for projects that specifically tackle all forms of serious violent crime.

PCC Mark Burns-Williamson said: “This fund makes a real difference and I want to once again thank all the projects and those involved for the incredible work they do.”
