THERE has been a medal rush this morning for athletes from the Bradford district at the Commonwealth Games on Australia's Gold Coast.

Pudsey gymnast Nile Wilson claimed gold in the men's individual all-round artistic gymnastics, while Bingley Harriers Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee picked up silver medals in the triathlon mixed team relay.

Wilson, 22, finished almost a full point clear of second placed Englishman James Hall in the event, after qualifying in first place.

The former Pudsey Grangefield student showed poise and power in the high bar, parallel bars, floor, vault, rings and pommel horse to take home the gold medal.

As part of a four person team, alongside women's silver medallist Jess Learmonth and Vicky Holland, the Brownlees took home a silver behind home nation Australia, to make up for disappointing results for the former Bradford Grammar School students in the men's race.
