BRADFORD-based supermarket Morrisons has donated hundreds of Easter eggs to a charity that helps homeless people in the city.

The general manager of the Morrisons store in Girlington handed over a clutch of chocolate eggs to the Bradford Soup Run earlier this week, ahead of the Easter weekend.

Danny Findlay said: “Once again we are delighted to help the Bradford Soup Run and their excellent work with Bradford’s most vulnerable people.”

Street team worker for the Bradford Soup Run, Matt Baldwin, added: “We are dependent on support for our continuance and we are grateful Morrisons have once again shown their generosity in the most practical of ways.”

Mr Baldwin headed to the Girlington store earlier this week to collect the eggs from customer services manager Hannah Khan.

The sweet treats will bring some Easter cheer to the city’s less fortunate.

The Bradford Soup Run has been helping the homeless in the city for more than three decades.

The charity was founded in 1984 and provides meals, as well as clothing and bedding to help people who are homeless in the city.

The Soup Run says it costs approximately £770 a week to keep feeding the homeless in Bradford.

It relies on donations and support from the public and businesses.
