RESIDENTS of a Crossflatts care home were given an Easter treat by pupils of a Bingley school.

Hazelbeck Special School is working towards gaining its World Class Schools status, and part of that includes pupils taking part in “socially responsible” projects.

On Wednesday pupils from all year groups in the school, along with pupils from neighbouring Beckfoot School, invited 12 elderly residents of Thompson Court care home in Crossflatts to the school for an Easter meal.

The pupils had visited the residents at the home, and asked them what their favourite meals were.

The pupils then picked out the most popular items, and prepared a feast for the residents.

When the residents came to the school they were served the meal by the pupils before taking part in an Easter Egg hunt, Easter crossword and craft sessions.

Beckfoot was awarded World Class School status in 2016, and the school is now helping Hazelbeck in its efforts to achieve the same status.
