POLICE are hunting a driver who knocked down a pensioner in Bradford and then fled the scene of the crash.
The crash happened on Highgate Road in the Clayton Heights area of the city on Thursday morning.
The driver of a silver Peugeot 206 hit the 69 year-woman as she was crossing the road and failed to stop.
The woman suffered injuries to her back and remains in hospital.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said today: "Police in Bradford are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision which occurred on Highgate Road in the city on March 22.
"At around 9:10am a 69 year-old woman was crossing the road when she was struck by a silver Peugeot 206, which subsequently made off from the scene towards the city centre.
"The woman received serious back injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing, and any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information as to the location of the vehicle, is asked to contact the police.
