A TRIO of local TV presenters set off from Bradford this morning to bring their mammoth fundraising challenge for Sport Relief to an end.

Harry Gration, Amy Garcia, and Paul Hudson have pulled the BBC Look North Sofa to 50 locations around Yorkshire in just ten days to meet viewers and raise money for the cause.

Their 100-mile journey began in Birstall on March 15th, and the trio have braved strong winds, rain, and heavy snow on the route.

The Bradford leg had to be postponed because of snow and treacherous conditions, but supporters were out in force this morning as the group left Cartwright Hall in Lister Park on their rescheduled journey.

The sofa will be making its way across the district, heading through places including Wilsden and Cullingworth, before arriving on the cobbled streets of Haworth at around 5pm.

As well as raising money for Sport Relief 2018, the challenge marks the 50th anniversary of BBC Look North, which made its first broadcast on March 25, 1968.

Mr Gration said: “It’s something different, but the sofa is synonymous with Look North.”

The main Sport Relief appeal programme, broadcast last night on the BBC, raised more than £38million for charitable causes in the UK and abroad.
