A FORMER cooker shop could soon become the latest addition to Bradford’s “Top Of Town” bar and restaurant scene.

Plans have been submitted that would see The Cooker Centre, on the corner of Rawson Square and North Parade, converted from a shop to a bar/restaurant.

Haseeb Raja submitted the application to Bradford Council this week. It will see the ground floor converted into a seating and bar area, with the upstairs turned to toilets and a staff area.

The new business is expected to create one full time and five part time jobs.

The building has been empty and on the market for several years, and is one of the most prominent shop frontages in the top of town area, which in recent years has been transformed by the opening of a series of new independent bars.

Bradford Council is expected to make a decision on the application in mid May.
