PLAYERS from Bradford City FC have visited a primary school that helped raise thousands for the club’s charity.
Low Ash Primary School in Shipley has been raising money for the Bradford City FC Community Foundation by holding a Billy Bantam penalty shoot out contest in the school every two years for over a decade.
Half the money raised goes to the foundation, with the other half going towards resources for extra curricular events at the school.
This year the event raised £6,960, even more than the £6,343 the school collected in 2016.
The school recently held a special assembly where the three pupils who raised the most money were presented with a signed BCFC football.
City striker Alex Jones and midfielder Jordan Gibson visited the school to make the presentations.
All pupils in the school who raised more than £3 in sponsorship were given a Bradford City medal and those who raised over £10 also got a Bradford City Pump Bag. The children who raised over £20 have received a replica football.
