A MAN has been fined £592 after he failed to clear away a huge amount of rubbish dumped in his garden.
Mohammed Yaqoob, of Mansfield Road, Girlington, was also ordered to pay costs of £548 and a victim surcharge of £44 by Bradford Council, despite the authority urging him to clean it up.
Prosecutor Aneeka Sarwar said the rubbish had been dumped on private land - in the garden at the side and the rear of Newark Street, Bowling.
Mr Yaqoob, who was not present at the hearing, was found guilty in his absence by Bradford Magistrates last week of failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice.
They also issued a Remedial Order to ensure Mr Yaqoob complies with the Magistrates' ruling.
Failure to do so could result in more fines or imprisonment.
