ICY conditions hampered firefighters who were called out to deal with a blaze in a chimney.
At 6.30pm yesterday a crew from Shipley station were called to a house in Ashfield Road, Shipley.
Initially they thought it was a house fire, but when they arrived found that it was contained to the property's chimney.
Because of the icy conditions, firefighters were unable to get onto the roof of the house to deal with the blaze, so called an aerial appliance from the Bradford station to extinguish the fire.
At one point there were three fire engines at the scene.
A spokesman said the blaze remained confined to the chimney, and the house was not seriously damaged.
They said the chimney had been swept in August.
