THE launch of a One Britain One Nation event to unite communities across the district has been held at Bradford University and included invited schools and guest speakers.

The event had been organised by OBON founder Kash Singh, a former police officer working across Leeds and Bradford, and highlighted a forthcoming OBON Day on June 29.

Key speakers included Yorkshire and England cricketing legend Ryan Sidebottom; pastor of the New Testament Church of God in Leeds Bishop Tony Parry; Michael Jameson, director of Children’s Services for Bradford and Julia Robinson, general secretary of the Independent Schools Council.

Mr Singh said the launch had been a success with a good turn out and guest speakers making some heartfelt speeches about life in our communities.

He said: “I’m humbled and honoured by the support the OBON Day campaign has generated and for me, today was a momentous occasion and I feel very proud. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all those who made this event possible.”
