WEATHER has halted plans for a charity run which was due to take place on Sunday.

The Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k has been postponed until April 29.

Carl Foster, Senior Fundraising Events Officer at Epilepsy Action, said: “After monitoring the weather closely, we have made the decision to postpone this event due to the Met Office’s amber weather warnings of snow for Leeds and Bradford over the weekend.

WEATHER: Snow expected on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Bradford

"We are very disappointed the run will not go ahead but the safety of our runners and spectators must be our first priority.

"Runners will be notified by text and email. Places will automatically be carried over to the race on April 29 and runners who no longer wish to take part will be offered a refund.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this cancellation causes.”

A Colour Run due to take place in Horton Park tomorrow has also been cancelled, as well as a Bradford College open day event. A college spokesperson said a new date would be arranged as soon as possible, but the safety of its staff and visitors is paramount.
