A BRADFORD school’s film club has been named Club of the Year at a national awards.
Horton Park Primary School’s Into Film Club picked up the under 12 category of the award at a glitzy ceremony at BFI Southbank this afternoon.
Run by club leader Andrew Dixon, the school’s Into Film Club is attended by members from across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and explores a wide range of film, techniques and genres to influence their work.
The school's club has a particular focus on mindfulness, and staff have found that these ideals have proven to reduce barriers to learning.
Mr Dixon said: “We’re delighted to have won the award in celebration of the children’s progress and dedication over the past 12 months.
"Our visit to London will long be a memorable experience for our young filmmakers.”
