A BRADFORD school finished fourth in a regional theatrical performance competition.
Southfield School, Haycliffe Lane, missed out on the top prize in the 2018 Be Your Best Rock Challenge event held last night.
They performed This Is Us. Confident. Resilient. Independent. Their performance looked at people who find it difficult to speak but are still heard if the community unites.
Southfield were one of ten schools from across South and West Yorkshire on stage in Rotherham. Other Bradford district schools in action were Shipley College, who performed New Toy in the Box, and Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College, who performed Wild Fire.
Sheffield Springs Academy, Sheffield, finished in first place.
Meanwhile, High Crags Academy in Shipley and Beckfoot Allerton Primary School, Bradford, will battle it out with four other schools in the Rock Challenge and J Rock at the same venue tonight.
The Rock Challenge sees participating schools produce musical and theatrical performances. They are marked on production, design and performance.
School teams made up of from 20 to 100 performers decides on a theme, create the choreography for their five to eight-minute dance-drama performance, record the music for their soundtrack, and design and make their sets and costumes.
