POLICE in the Bradford West district arrested a man yesterday who had been an “illegal overstayer” in this country for 20 years.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the man had been arrested for immigration offences.
He had been taken to a detention centre “pending removal from the UK”.
The spokesman added that after deportation to his native country the arrested man would be dealt with for serious offences he committed over two decades ago.
