A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of wasting police time after officers were called to a report of a man entering a Bradford nightclub with a gun.
There was a huge police presence, including armed officers, at Westgate at 8am Saturday morning after police received a report of a man seen with a firearm.
There was also a major response from Yorkshire Ambulance Service, with a hazardous area response team and numerous paramedics sent to the scene.
Officers searched the premises, Medusa’s, on the corner of Hamm Strasse and found 30 people inside. Each person was individually searched and no firearm was located.
Westgate was closed to traffic for several hours.
Three men were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released without charge.
Police said the incident was now being treated as a false report and a 24-year-old man has been arrested and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
