ARTIST Stan Boardman – known as 1920s Boy – will be the subject of a talk at Silsden Local History Group.
Speaker Tim Neal, who has studied the artist's life and work, will also show examples of his many illustrations of characters and street scenes from early 20th-century Keighley.
Mr Boardman – who was also a sign-writer – and his family once ran a toy and arts supplies shop, The Paint Box, in Kirkgate, Silsden.
The talk is at Silsden Methodist Church on Monday, February 26, and everyone is welcome.
Doors will open for refreshments at 7pm, and the talk begins at 7.20pm. Admission is £2.
The following afternoon, the history group will hold its monthly drop-in research session at Silsden Town Hall between 2pm and 4pm. Anyone with a local or family history query is invited to call in.
