POLICE have arrested a man following a stand-off in a housing estate in Bradford this afternoon.
Armed officers attended a callout at 2.50pm and a cordon was put in place in Ravenscliffe Avenue, Ravenscliffe.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 2.50pm today police received a call raising concerns for a 36-year-old man at an address in Ravenscliffe Avenue, in Bradford, believed to be in possession of a firearm.
"Officers attended and found the man had barricaded himself in the property and was refusing to leave."
He added a police negotiator had been sent to the scene and was in contact with the man to bring the incident to a "safe conclusion."
At around 5.45pm the spokesman said the man had been detained under the Mental Health Act and Public Order Act.
A witness said the incident had drawn a large crowd of spectators.
