A FAULTY dishwasher was the cause of a kitchen fire this afternoon.

Firefighters from Odsal an Bradford were called to an address in Digley Avenue, Queensbury, at 12.30pm.

A spokesman for the fire service said there were flames and smoke coming from the Beko appliance which was only around four months old.

Two breathing apparatus were used along with one hose reel and positive pressure ventilation.

The family was outside when the fire service arrived and there were no injuries.
