BETWEEN 300 and 400 people dashed to Shipley College on Saturday to buy their seed potatoes at the annual Potato Day sale.
The event, organised through the West Yorkshire Organic Group, has been held for around 25 years and offers people the chance to get their stocks of potatoes, as well as rare and unusual varieties that can usually only be bought online, ahead of the growing season.
“It has been really busy,” said group chairman Peter Taylor.
“We began packing up early because by 1pm most of the stocks had gone.”
