THE man who built Bradford car dealership JCT600 into Yorkshire's biggest privately-owned company has been inducted into the Automotive Management Hall of Fame at a recent awards dinner for the industry.

Jack Tordoff MBE, whose father Ned founded JCT600 with a single dealership in Sticker Lane in 1946, was presented with the honour at the Automotive Management Awards.

Under Mr Tordoff, 82, JCT600 has grown to now have 50 dealerships across the country representing 18 car brands, including Aston Martin, Bentley and Ferrari.

Receiving the honour, Mr Tordoff said: “I don’t think there’s any great secret to success - it’s all about working hard and always putting the customer first.

“I am extremely proud of the business I’ve created, it’s the people who make it so special.

“I’m also very proud that both of my sons and now all five of my grandsons are involved, we remain very much a Yorkshire family business and these strong values continue to be central to everything we do.”
