POLICE have arrested five people suspected of breaking into properties in and around Keighley.
Commenting yesterday (Feb 1), a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said officers had detained the suspects after carrying out early morning raids at premises in the Thorpe Edge area of Bradford
He added: "Keighley ward officers teamed up with Bradford East officers on the hunt for our most wanted burglars.
"With another door off its hinges we found Keighley's most wanted for burglaries in Ilkley, Long Lee and Ingrow. We also found Bradford East’s most wanted for burglary too.
"Two others were arrested for handling stolen goods and assisting an offender.
"That’s five arrested for burglaries in Keighley in the last three days. Let’s hope the courts do their bit now."
The spokesman urged residents not to make life easy for thieves, and to make sure their cars and homes are locked and keys kept out of sight.
He added that people can always access crime prevention advice from the West Yorkshire Police website.
