A SERIES of free sketch walks for aspiring and experienced artists will be held in the grounds of Cliffe Castle Museum this winter and spring.

Bradford Council’s parks service, working with Cliffe Castle Park Conservation Group, is holding the walks around the grounds and glasshouses of the newly refurbished park.

The sketch walk idea has been developed by artist Deborah Rehmat – whose sketching project `Drawing the Work` followed the restoration of the park – and Louise Garrett, who is an experienced local urban sketcher.

The walks are aimed at everyone from absolute beginners to seasoned sketchers.

Bradford Council executive member for Environment, Sport and Culture, Sarah Ferriby, said: “This is a great way to make the most of the marvellous landscape of the park and to appreciate the environment created by the recent restoration.”

The walks are being spilt into two groups of sessions, to allow for extra techniques and skills to be developed.

These are: Wednesday February 28 and Wednesday March 14 from 10.30am until 12.30pm and Wednesday May 16 and Wednesday May 30 at the same times.

All sessions will start at the new glasshouse with a short practice exercise and demonstration.

Places are limited. To book, E-mail cliffe.castle.park@bradford.gov.uk to reserve a place on either set of dates.
